Community in Mind is a day service for young adults with mild learning disabilities and for over 65s with mild needs.
This specialist day care service offers meaningful activities and the chance to get involved in our local community. From cooking skills, local history and crafts, exercise sessions to health screening sessions from health professionals, this is a refreshing and unique alternative to conventional day care.
We want to help you get the most out of your life. Sometimes that might mean enabling you to meet new people and take part in a range of social activities, making new friendships.
Even if you just want a change of scenery and to take in the morning newspapers in a friendly environment, your needs will always be our top priority.
Our aim is to provide a high standard of care and support to people within the community to gain life skills, where they will be given the opportunity to remain as independent as possible. Our passion and motivation is to help people feel important and involved in decisions about their lives, their care and their support.
Framed around a detailed, risk-assessed outcome, we will work closely with our service users and their families (or people acting on their behalf) listening to their needs, beliefs, preferences and goals and respecting these when personalising their support plan.
We provide the support and guidance required for their safety, well-being and needs.
Our community centre is a public location, where local residents can come together for many life-enriching purposes.
